Customer Rating: Summary: doesn't work properly Comment: I really wanted this device to work well. I had problems with it continually disconnecting and reconnecting. I thought it might have been because I didn't have the power cord attached and it wasn't getting enough power from the USB, but plugging in the power adapter didn't help. It's been going on since I got the product and it's very annoying to constantly hear the alert on Windows when the devices connect and reconnect -- literally hundreds of time per hour! I didn't even realize there was a time limit for returns, luckily I signed on today and saw I had on more day to return it. I thought about exchanging it, but then I read the other reviews on here, and I don't want to go through the hassle again. I think I'll just find another more reliable brand. I like the construction of the device--it looks and feels nice. But let's face it, if a USB hub doesn't work, it doesn't matter what it looks like. It needs to work. Customer Rating: Summary: no probs so far Comment: Running Vista 64-bit HP SP1 and it had no problems self-installing. Using the power power supply that comes with it, I have a printer 2 external drives and a wireless mouse antenna hooked up to it. So far so good. I use "handi tak" adhesive putty, a ball at each corner on the underside of the base so it doesn't slide around on my desk. If you use that self-adhesive foam strip to secure the hub to the base, apply it to that thin plastic sheet that's already inserted inbetween the hub and base, and put the foam side down against the base, not the hub. It's easier to slide the hub off and on that way. Customer Rating: Summary: USB Hub to the rescue Comment: Great little hub. Heavy metal base to weight it down. Comes with a piece of foam to insert between the hub and base to keep it from sliding out of the base. Blue light special light (Kmart still has blue light don't they? or I'm I really that old?) is covered over with a piece of duck-tape. Customer Rating: Summary: I like it Comment: Awesome little USB hub. Feels heavy enough when you pick it up, but it does move around some if the cables tug on it. It does come with some kind of mounting base, but I don't use it. It needs to be plugged in, which is a pain since I have like 4 power strips that are full of wide transformers. The blue light is very bright and does not go out when the computer is powered off. It's so bright I have to put a book on top of it so it doesn't keep me up at night. Never had a problem with the hub. Never had to jiggle the wires to get a connection. Would definitely buy another if I needed one. More Reviews
