Comment: We had another type of plate holder which lasted us for a long time but eventually the tabs holding it in place under the cabinet broke one at a time until it essentially fell down! In any case this particular Pop A Plate holder seems to be a very solid plastic, easy to install, & VERY easy to take down & put back in place when replenishing a stack of plates (our other one was a task at times). I would suggest that you NOT use the thin styrofoam type of plates because they will break when you try to dispense them from the holder & also nothing of a hard plastic nature as it is very difficult to pull them out of the Pop A Plate dispenser. Also make sure of the size of the plates (I know this seems obvious)as we use strictly 9" paper type plates though I have seen it stated that 8 3/4" will work as well? I can however tell you from experience that 8 1/2 will NOT work as they will all fall through when you try to pull one down! On a final note it does take some getting used to in trying to grip just ONE plate & pull it down but it is still far more convenient than reaching down into a cabinet or underneath somewhere & so forth!
