Summary: The Best Blues Harp
Comment: Nothing compares hands down to the quality and versatility of this harp.

Every part can be replaced, not that you'd need to unless you ran it over with a truck or something.

These harps are the loudest I've played and the tone and ease I have playing them is unmatched by Hohners which I've also tried.

The beard bite thing I ran into as well on occasion... but only when I was badly in need of a trim, in any case, covering the bolts with a piece of tape or a trim can easily fix this.

I own several of these harps and will forever be a fan.

Summary: sounds great but painful
Comment: This is an easy to bend and blow harp but be warned if you have mustache and beard it will pull your hair out in a very painful way. It may help you play the blues.

Summary: Bend it like Little Walter
Comment: I am a beginner harp player, so I tried several brands to find my favorite version of this popular pocket instrument. I tried the venerable Hohner Special--not bad. I tried a Marine Band version and then tried a Lee Oskar. The light plastic frame, the ease of "bending" a note and the fluid transition from note to note make this my choice of harp. The Lee Oskars are not commonly found in local music stores, so it's wonderful to have a place to order them. You need several harps--because diatonic harmonicas are tuned to a key and then, if played "cross harp" are really in the key up a fifth from the listed key. Anyway, you need a C, a D, an F and a G usually and an A is not bad to have, either. These are nice little harps. A repair kit is available, but frankly, unless you are devoted to a particular harp, just replace it when it goes bad.
