It will not carry out the function of protection. It is too bulky vs. the portability of the Garmin 270. I finally chose a camera case at Best Buy that suits it perfectly by CaseLogic for US$ 10. It protects it against moisture, dust and is small enpugh to carry in backpack, briefcase or compact suitcase. It is completely padded as well. Of course, for the price, premium leather is an overstatement as well.
